The purpose of this app is to help you find words based on a pattern or spelling by using "wildcard" characters. With over 300,000 words and names, many of which with off-line definitions, synonyms, and antonyms, this app can be used as an off-line dictionary too. For example:

a) to find four letter words that start with W and end with D search for "w??d";
b) to find words of any length that start with W and end with RD search for "w*rd";
c) to find words starting with W search for "w*";
d) to find a specific word and check definitions, synonyms, and antonyms (when available) simply search for that word;
e) to discover how a word is spelled, for example "adjacancy" vs. "adjacency", search for "adjac*ncy," placing an asterisk in the unsure location;

Supported "wildcard" characters are:

"*" - Fills in any number of letters;
"?" - Fills in a single letter

Links to on-line definitions and descriptions of the words at Wikipedia or Wiktionary can be enabled in the Settings screen.

This app is not meant to be a cheating tool while playing scrabble style word games, but it could be useful when playing such games too. Open the Scramble screen and search for words that contain some or all of the letters you need to build a word with. When wild card ("?") characters are used only words containing all specified letters will be produced. Specifying a larger number of letters will increase search time.

Results are always grouped by word length and alphabetically sorted. In the Settings screen you can choose the length based sorting order. The total number of found results will be displayed at the top of the screen.and if the result set had to be restricted in size it will ne noted there too.
